POST-COVID REHABILITATION PROGRAM
Studies show that almost 90% of recovered COVID-19 patients report persistent symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, muscle weakness, fatigue, cognitive difficulty or "brain fog," anxiety, and depression.
Aegle's Post-COVID Rehabilitation Program is a comprehensive program that addresses Post-Acute Sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC), including at least five internationally accepted assessment scales of functionality—from physical, to mental, to spiritual well-being. It seeks to address the post-COVID sequelae by providing a personalized treatment plan consisting of innovative biomedical and psychosocial approaches designed to augment standard treatment.
COVID-19 survivors, especially those who continue to experience post-COVID-19 effects, such as:
Difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath
Lingering loss of smell and taste
Depression and anxiety
Persistent headaches or dizziness
Rapid Antibody Testing
This is a blood test which will determine if you have developed antibodies against the SARS-CoV2 virus, the causative agent of COVID-19. Antibodies are proteins developed by your immune system to fight off future infections of the said virus. This gives our clinical practitioners an idea of how your body responded immunologically to the viral infection as well.
Autonomic Nervous System Stress Response Test
By having you just lie down for three minutes, this test reveals valuable information on your current state of health with regard to your body’s response to stress based on your heart rate variability and peripheral vascular pliability.
Direct Micronutrient Analysis
This is a non-invasive procedure using a beam of light directed on your palm. The light is able to pick up the levels of your vitamins and essential minerals, as well as unwanted heavy metals.
Professionally and academically validated psychological tests and weekly Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) consultations with our psychologist
Weekly consultations with your dedicated physician
Weekly graduated and individualized conditioning exercises with our physiotherapist
Weekly sessions for regenerative therapies, which include:
Immune Boost Intravenous (IV) Drip
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Composed of high-dose vitamins and minerals that are supplied directly to your bloodstream to ensure full absorption and utilization of much-needed micronutrients for your body
Exposes your body to high-pressure, high-concentration oxygen and allows direct entry of this life-giving gas to parts of the body not otherwise supplied with adequate oxygen in a normal atmosphere. This optimizes the cells’ repair, regeneration, and energy production.
Daily intake of Immune Booster Packs for a month
These packs are a unique combination of supplements with the highest levels of vitamins B12, C, D-3, E, and zinc. Each supplement in the pack offers the highest appropriate dosage as specified by evidence-based medicine. With each supplement complementing the others, the Booster Pack helps your mind and body stay alert, active, and healthy.
How do oxygen therapy and vitamin supplementation help in my recovery?
COVID-19 creates a high demand on the body during the recovery process; this is a time when you need more vitamins and nutrients than usual. For this program, we have integrated Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) with Immune Boost IV Drips and Immune Booster Packs to bolster your health and keep your body’s defenses at their strongest.
For COVID-19 survivors, HBOT’s anti-inflammatory effect can reset your body’s massive systemic inflammatory response to SARS-COV2, known clinically as cytokine storm. HBOT has been recognized by medical professionals as enhancing the body's natural healing capabilities. This delivers oxygen effectively to the whole body and helps in nerve and brain cell regeneration, therefore treating cognitive difficulties or “brain fog” commonly experienced by COVID-19 recovered patients. HBOT also hastens the absorption of vitamins and minerals provided by the Immune Boost IV Drips and Immune Booster Packs. This makes the recovery process faster and more effective, since the micronutrients that your cells need are supplied efficiently.
Why weekly graduated and individualized conditioning exercises are important
Your body may currently be experiencing long-term and secondary impacts of COVID-19, such as weakness, fatigue, shortness of breath, and difficulty in performing daily tasks. Physical therapy can make you stronger and help improve your breathing, balance, and mobility.
Your physical and mental health are equally important, which is why we’ve included weekly Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) consultations with our psychologist
Research shows that about a third of COVID-19 patients go on to develop "long-haul" neurological or psychiatric conditions months after contracting the virus. Other studies also suggest a link between COVID-19 and a higher risk for developing mental health and neurological disorders later on. As a COVID survivor, it is normal to feel overwhelmed, confused, and uncertain because you are entering a new phase of your life. Having survived the unseen virus, you will sometimes feel that the pain never ends. This can lead to increased anxiety, detachment, or depression.
With this program, we will help you focus on what you can control and find purpose in during your time spent in recovery. We offer support so that you can easily find relief from the feelings of sadness and anxiety, and in doing so, help minimize unpleasant mood symptoms.
Remember that you are not alone — we are always here with you.
