Hidilyn Diaz is leaving no stone unturned in her quest for glory.

In fact, the weightlifting star has summoned the gods in her bid to give the Philippines a first Olympic gold medal.

Diaz and Aegle, the Greek goddess of good health, have started their partnership, aimed at improving the performance and fitness routines of the Rio de Janeiro Games silver medalist.

Aegle is actually a state-of-the-art wellness center at The City Club at Alphaland Makati Place.

Aegle medical director Dr. Benedict Valdecañas, himself a former track and field athlete and swimmer at La Salle Green Hills, said their facilities aim to help start one’s fitness journey.

“You want to lose weight, start an exercise program, but don’t know how to start,” Valdecañas said. “Aegle will guide you through, teach you how to start and even provide nutrition tips.”

Valdecañas has no doubt in Diaz’s capabilities and the way her trainers handle her. Still, they want to help her in whatever way they can.

“I’m excited about learning and improving some more,” said Diaz, who is going to China in May for training as part of her preparation for the Asian Games in Indonesia this August. “As long as it will help me win, I welcome all the help I can get.”
